Big news this month – after building Primary Colors into the hottest Wednesday night party in the city over the past six months, Arlo & Esme has asked us to take a shot at the big time and move the party to Thursday night. We’ll be kicking it off this Thursday, the 8th. To celebrate, we’ll be rocking the DJ booth all night long – something we haven’t done there in several months.
Even though the party is on a new night, all the things you love about it will stay the same – there’s still no cover if you RSVP (just scroll down to do that), and vodka drinks are still just $5 all night long. And we’ll still give you a free drink if you’re one of the first ten people to check in on foursquare or shout at @prettygirlsdjs on twitter. Can’t wait to see you there!
RSVPs for this event are closed. Feel free to join our mailing list to stay in the loop about future events.
The pix from our first two parties at Happy Ending are up on our facebook fan page (you don’t need to have facebook to see them, but I’m guessing you have facebook). Check them out, tag yourself if you were there, and take a second to become a fan of ours on facebook if you’re not already.
By the way, a bunch of people have been asking what’s going on with us and Happy Endings, so here’s the deal. They gave us a two-week run on Tuesday night, and the management seemed to be really happy with our music and our vision for the party. They also promised a new production team called Night Kids the chance at a trial run. So we won’t be there this week and next week while they get their shot, and after that we’ll see what happens. Either way, we’ll keep you posted about what we’ve got going on there and anywhere else. Happy Ending will still be running the open vodka bar from 11-12, but I’m not sure if they’ll be running a raffle for bar tabs or free drinks for twitter and foursquare users – you’ll have to check with the bar.
As you probably already know, about a month ago we put out a remix of Lupe Fiasco’s “Kick Push,” the first remix we made public. We honestly didn’t expect it to get as much attention as it got, but we wanted to thank a handful of bloggers who spotlighted it and and really helped the remix (and us) to get noticed.
Extra special thanks to: Different Kitchen: A great blog that (mostly) focuses on rap. It’s one of the few non-electronic music blogs that in my rss feed, and it was their post that got noticed by Lupe himself and pushed us to #2 on the hypem twitter chart.
Me & All My Friends: Their post put us into the top 20 on the hypem popular page, where we peaked at #17.
Indiehere: The first blog to post about our remix. Their post launched us into the top 40 on hypem.
So here’s some exciting news for you – we’re taking over the lower level of Happy Ending (on the LES) Tuesday nights! Vodka drinks will be free from 11-12, there’s no cover charge, and we’ll be in the DJ booth the whole night. It’s going to be one hell of a party!
By the way, if you use foursquare or twitter, we’re giving a free drink to the first five guests to check in on foursquare and the first five to twitter their arrival @prettygirlsdjs.
Get ready for the newest edition of the best indie-dance party in NYC. This month, we’ll be in the dj booth alongside Elijah (http://www.myspace.com/djelijahmusic). He spins every Friday night at Spike Hill in Williamsburg, and has an awesome sound we think you’ll dig. As always, vodka drinks are only $5 all night long and it’s free to get in if you scroll down and RSVP.

If you’re here to RSVP for our Arlo & Esme party Wednesday, just scroll down to the next post. But this Saturday night (the 27th) we’ll be dropping a set alongside Prehab DJs frankvincent & Rocky Joe Dennis. Doors at 11, free before midnight, $5 after.
Big thanks to everyone who came out to the party at Arlo & Esme last night – as always, you all made it a blast for Levi and I, and we can’t wait for the next one.
Extra special thanks to everyone who helped us to spread the word and brought their friends, guest DJs 13/31 (http://1331nyc.com/), and the entire staff from Arlo & Esme.
We’re still putting the polish on our Regina Spektor remix, but everyone at the party last night will get it in their e-mail box as soon as it’s done.

The pix from our party a week and a half ago are up on our facebook fan page (you don’t need to have facebook to see them, btw). Check them out, tag yourself if you were there, and take a second to become a fan of ours on facebook if you’re not already. That way we can constantly spam you and fill up your inbox (kidding, we don’t do that).
If you have a hypem account, you’d be doing us a solid by clicking the little heart next to the track. Thanks a ton.
UPDATE: And to all the stores in the Village & LES that let us leave flyers with them to spread the word about our party, we’ll be by tomorrow to recycle the extras – wanted to get it done today, but it was insanely nasty out.

Apparently this has been up for a month or so – I have no idea how I’m not catching it ’till now. Apparently Levi is a “golden field of crisp wheat you want to pick – tall, blonde, blue-eyed, and gorgeous.” Who knew?
If you want to see Levi (or me) live in NYC, our next party is at Arlo & Esme in the East Village a week from Wednesday. Scroll down to the next post for all the info, and to RSVP.

Here’s where you RSVP to get put on the guest list.

I heard this spun at the Cut Copy afterparty a few months ago and wasn’t able to find it ’till now. It’s an amazingly funky track that I can’t get enough of lately.
And the blog “Feral Party Kids” did a great job putting a whole slew of his remixes in one place to listen to and download. Some great stuff to head into the weekend. Feral Party Kids
LA Riots, a really awesome dj/production team from out west, are doing a set at Webster hall here in New York tonight. And if you RSVP, they’re only charging a buck to get in. If you’re in the area, this is a must see. We’ll be somewhere in the crowd, if you can find us.
